Hario Skerton PLUS Ceramic Coffee Grinder

This is a great hand grinder for home or using on your travels. It can grind 70g of coffee at a time, and is perfect for filter, AeroPress or French press coffee. Be prepared, it will take a few minutes to grind your coffee, but you will enjoy the taste and smell of freshly ground coffee! 

The burrs are ceramic meaning they will last and won’t fade, and the body and handle of the grinder have been designed to be efficient and comfortable. 

Why use a hand coffee grinder?

As soon as whole coffee beans are ground, you inevitably start to lose some of the flavour, which is why to enjoy the best coffee, you would grind as you need it. However, not everyone wants a large coffee grinder on their worktop, or has access while travelling which is why hand grinders are perfect.

Why not use for espresso?

Espresso requires very fine coffee grinds which aren’t always easy to achieve with hand grinders. Any coffee making where the ground coffee is in contact with water for more than 30 seconds will be perfect. There are situations where this will work, but it may not be optimal.

What is this difference between this grinder and super expensive ones?

You will often find that as you invest more, materials, precision and longevity increases, however, you may also find that spending a lot more on a product doesn’t necessarily give you a much much better product. This grinder is great if you are on a small budget, are just starting out or want to use while travelling. Although many of our customers have had one for years and love it.
