Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Maker – 1 Litre

The Hario Mizudashi Cold Brew Coffee Maker is the easiest way to enjoy cold brew coffee at home from Hario; simply fill in the filter cone with your favourite coffee, add room temperature spring water into the pot and stir the top grounds to let the coffee soak into the water fully. Once the coffee grounds are wet, store the cold brew pot in the refrigerator and leave it for at least 8 hours. Then, take the mesh filter out and drain it.

Ibanda, Uganda Natural Process Coffee – RRP £8

A very clean and full-bodied, sweet and complex coffee, with notes of, fruit and dark chocolate.

Ripe, red coffee cherries are harvested daily during the harvest season and taken to Ibanda. The
cherries are weighed, assessed for quality and the farmers are paid in cash. From here trucks carry
the cherries to Bugoye Coffee Station. Here the cherries are floated and graded before being sundried
in the polytunnels to protect them from rain. Our teams turn the cherries several times each
day to ensure even drying whilst allowing the cherries to mature and develop their full rich flavour

he coffees are rich in flavour, notes of red/yellow fruits, lemon, deep intense chocolate and panela, full-bodied, and wonderfully balanced, excellent acidity, with an amazing aftertaste. Regional cupping average 85-88 – Coffees are all grown the artisanal way, fully washed and fermented 36+ hours, sun-dried, only selecting the finest of the beans when ripe all are hand-selected

Guide to making Cold Brew:

There are many ways to make cold brew coffee but after lots of experimentation, we believe we have come up with a winner. As you may want to add water, milk or tonic to your coffee, we prefer to make a high strength brew and dilute afterwards. We chose 100g of coffee to 900g of water – but as long as you keep to a 1g of coffee for every 9g of water you will be fine. You can then dilute as you wish. We found diluting 1 part coffee to 3 parts water worked perfectly with cold water or tonic.

A few key tips

  • Cold brew coffee works best with a course grind. Like little boulders. If you arent able to grind to this level, we are happy to grind for you.
  • Use filtered or bottled water for the best taste
  • We left to steep for 24 hours for a really good flavour
